Turning Text into Lifelike Speech

Hello again! I'm back in my element (at least for the time being ✌) This time I want to share with you one of the coolest websites that I have known in my entire life (shout out to my lecturer 👨‍🏫). I just actually knew it a few weeks ago. I just couldn't believe that I never stumbled onto this kind of stuff in the past. This is really a game-changer! If you want to know what it is, stay put in this blog...

This is how the website looks like.

Without further ado, what I was talking about is text to speech tool or "tts" in short. Have you heard about it? Because for me personally, it's a novel thing. Don't you notice that it really made an impact on me? Well, it's because this tool helped me a lot to turn my reading text into speech when I was developing my listening test. It is a type of assistive device that reads digital text out loud with the click of a button or the touch of a finger It's also known as "read-aloud" technology. Imagine that!!!! Before I would use my own voice to record a passage and it cringes on me when I would listen to it🤣 So now, cringe no more because I can produce a listening test with a professional voice, from a native speaker. And what's one more cool thing about it? It's completely free, guys!.

But you might say, Oww the website is not that attractive. ha ha. I actually thought the same, it's super plain and simple, right? But in any case, I don't mind how attractive, colorful or what not the website is as long as the final product is fabulous, I'm totally okay with it.

I have encountered different kinds of "tts" websites but for me, this website  https://ttstool.com/ is best worked for me as you can insert as many as words you like. You don't need to sign up, too.

But....how does text-to-speech work?

✔TTS is compatible with almost any personal digital device, including computers, smartphones, and tablets. Text files of any type, including Word and Pages documents, or even web pages, can be read aloud.

✔The voice in TTS is generated by a computer, and the reading speed is usually adjustable. The quality of the voice varies. You can choose a man's or woman's voice. There are even computer-generated voices that mimic the voices of children. 😎😱

✔In a nutshell, this TTS provider obtains voices from established services such as Amazon Polly and Microsoft TTS, allowing it to provide higher-quality output in a simplified, browser-based service. Microsoft TTS voices are available in over 30 languages, many of which overlap with Amazon's 16. English speakers have a total of 26 options, with each provider offering 13 high-quality voices. Volume, rate, and pitch are among the controls. MP3s are available for download.

Oh wait, there's more. There's a feedback space on the website. If you have any comments/problems/suggestions, you can email them.

So, I hope you learned a lot from this blog and I hope you will use  https://ttstool.com/  on your next listening test activity or any activity that requires audio.
