                                  But, what is Pear Deck???

Pear Deck is a digital tool that gives teachers more detailed and graphic control over Google Slides. It is loaded as an add-on and works smoothly within the Google suite to provide teachers with powerful student-engaging content. The idea is to incorporate slide presentations with interactive questions to help advance inquiry-based learning. This enables students to work independently both in the classroom and remotely.

Here's a quick overview of how a Pear Deck Slides Lesson works.

· Create your Pear Deck account

· Build your slides

· Present your lesson and have students join

Create your  Pear Deck account

1.  Visit   https://www.peardeck.com

2.  Click on Teacher Login.

3. Log in with a Microsoft Office 365 or Google account and respond to a few questions when prompted.

4. Install either the Pear Deck for Online PowerPoint Add-in or the Pear Deck for Google Slides Ad on.

Build your slides

Using the Pear Deck for Google Slides Add-on or the Pear Deck for PowerPoint Online Add-in, you can create Pear Deck presentations in Google Slides or PowerPoint Online. Here's how it's done:

1. Open a new Slides presentation or copy a fully interactive, pre-made Orchard presentation for your own use.

2. Pre-made Slide Templates and/or Custom Interactive Questions can be inserted into your presentation.

Present your lesson and have students join

1. First, if you want to see students' names in your Sessions, you require an email login. Otherwise, disable email login so that participants can join completely anonymously. You can do this from your Settings page and the sidebar menu.
2. Launch PowerPoint Online or Google Slides to view your presentation.
3. To display the Pear Deck sidebar in Google Slides or PowerPoint Online, open the Pear Deck Add-on or Add-in.
4. To present a session, click Start Lesson. The following is how it looks in the sidebar of the Pear Deck for Google Slides Add-on and PowerPoint Online Add-in:

5. In the modal window, choose  Student or  Instructor Paced  Mode.

6. Get the five-letter Join Code OR copy the Session link (click  Give students a link ) and share it with students. Students either go to  https://app.peardeck.com/join  and enter the code or simply click on the link to join Here's how the Join Instructions when you start an Instructor-Paced lesson:

7. To open the Navigation Bar, close the Join Instructions and hover over the bottom of the slide. To run the lesson on your Projector View, use the controls.

a. Students' screens remain synced with yours during an Instructor Paced Session.
b. In a Student Paced Session, students receive simple navigation controls on the Student Views that allow them to move asynchronously through all of the slides. You are not required to be present, and you may even turn off your device.
c. Open the private Teacher Dashboard, a Premium feature, to see individual students' progress. The Dashboard View syncs with the Projector View and displays students' names and responses in real time, allowing you to quickly identify who is stuck or confused. You can also hide answers or highlight examples on the Instructor Paced Session Projector View, and leave feedback for individual students.

  1. Daisy's writing always excellent. She write it with such a detailed information, not to mention she write it in a friendly way. She also put pictures that make her explanation become easier to understood. That's a really good idea. I have a good time reading it, thanks a lot with your attractive and informative blog.
