Get to know the Pros and Cons of Quizizz

Welcome to my fourth blog! I've got a website for you!

Quizizz is the name of the game!

It is said that how you ask matters a lot. Do you know that assessments, instructions, and practices can be found in Quizziz? Oh yes, it provides a variety of tools and features to make a classroom more enjoyable, interactive, and engaging. However, it is inevitable that in every learning tool or application, there will always be advantages and disadvantages. So, if you are interested to know the positive and negative sides of this platform, please continue reading this post.

These are the benefits of Quizziz:

  • It's completely free! YAYYY!!!
  • The most appealing aspect of Quizizz is its adaptability. Any teacher can use it for any subject they teach. Teaching languages is one of them!
  • It has a Blog Section that showcases new platform features or techniques.
  • Quizizz has a Teacher Resource Section with a 1-page getting started guide, training presentation, and help center.
  • The question does not need to be projected on a board or screen. Every student has their own question-and-answer game.
  • Teachers can view student reports and see which questions were correctly or incorrectly answered in order to inform instruction or address learning gaps.
  • It is super simple to incorporate into Google Classroom.
  • With a single click, tadaaaaa... you can add existing questions from other Quizizzes to your own Quizizz and edit them.
  • Once a question has been answered, Fun Memes are added to it ( just like the picture below :D ). These can be tailored to your classroom community, school environment, or classroom content, and provide students with constructive feedback.

  • And last but not least, Quizizz can also be used for fun trivia or extra credit during school breaks when students are bored. :(

And these are the drawbacks:

  • Unfortunately, guys, the types of questions you can ask are limited. It is ideal for facts and recall, but not for more in-depth questioning.
  • It is always important to consider the access that schools and individual students have to computers, iPods, or phones when working with technology. When access is restricted, this platform could pose a problem.
  • The most difficult process in this entire experience, in my opinion, was adding memes. I had to look it up multiple times, and the video tutorial that explained it was oddly titled, so I wasn't sure if it would actually solve my problem at first. I never would have thought to hit the "play live" button at the end to add the memes. That could have been stated more clearly.
  • Another thing I'm not OKAY with is that if you copy a question from another quiz, you must use the meme that they have set, which may be inappropriate for your teaching.
As you can see, there are much, much more benefits than drawbacks, right? So overall, Quizizz is an excellent program for teachers and students as it is a flexible platform that can handle pre-assessments, formative assessments, lesson hooks, homework assignments, test reviews, and post-assessments all in one place. Imagine that! You just have to get hang of it and voila, your teaching or learning will be fun!
