An Interactive Bulletin Board

An online bulletin board tool that facilitates collaboration.

As technology becomes part and parcel of our daily lives, meaningful online collaboration opportunities for teachers and students are more crucial than ever. That is why, Padlet, a digital bulletin board tool, is so widely known among educators. It enables teachers, students, and even parents to easily share ideas, review work, and much more. Do you want to know what it's all about?

                                                            What exactly is Padlet? 🤔

Padlet is similar to paper for your screen. Begin with an empty page and fill it with whatever you want. Watch your padlet come to life by uploading a video, recording an interview, taking a selfie, writing your own text posts, or uploading documents. When others contribute, the page will be updated in real-time.

Moreover, padlet's ease of use, even for young students, is one of its best features for teachers. It is compatible with computers and laptops, as well as Chromebooks, iPads, and smartphones. Perhaps most importantly, teachers have control over whether contributions include students' names or are anonymous. This empowers students who might otherwise be too shy to speak up.

And guess whatttt?? You can also choose whether to allow comments or ratings, as well as whether to require approval before posting or filter out offensive language. That's pretty impressive, right?

No wonder Padlet is the most popular app among teachers, students, professionals, and people of all ages all over the world.

Here's a Padlet guide with 5 creative ways to use it with your students.

Cool Ways to Use Padlet for Teachers 😎

1.  Get to know each other

Padlet is ideal for icebreaker activities. Ask students what they have in common or show an image of their favorite study space. You could even request that each student create their own Padlet in which they convey some of their favorite things. 👌

2.   Display student work

Teachers are no longer limited to showing student work on a bulletin board in the classroom or in the nearby hallway. Padlets are shareable, so parents can check in to see what their children have been working on. 😱

 3.   Assign lessons or homework

Use Padlet to keep track of all of your homework for the week, or to plan out daily lessons for a virtual classroom. You can directly create assignments in Padlet, such as responding to reading questions, or links to videos, online games, and other resources. As needed, students or parents can post questions to the assignments. 🙌

4. Take a poll

You can effortlessly take a poll or survey for almost anything by enabling the voting feature. Choose your next class reward, find out which book your students enjoyed the most, or ask them which difficulty on their homework was the most difficult. There are so many options!

5.   Get feedback with exit tickets

Exit tickets are an excellent way to learn what your students learned in class and where they may still require assistance. Many teachers have students write their responses to a reflection question on a sticky note and tape it to the door on their way out. Instead, if you're teaching online or want to implement some technology, use Padlet. 😍
